▶︎『あなたの好きな食べ物は何？』

「まったく見ず知らずの人のあいだに入ったら、あなたはどうする？」

新学期、新しい職場、初めてのイベント参加――私たちは日常の中で、何度となく「はじめまして」の場面に出会います。そうしたとき、多くの人が少なからず緊張や不安を抱くのではないでしょうか。では、その不安をどう乗り越え、相手のことを本当の意味で知るにはどうすればいいのでしょう？名前や出身地を尋ねるだけで、人は理解し合えるのでしょうか？

本作は、「同じ釜の飯を食う」ということわざに着想を得て、共にテーブルを囲むことを軸に展開する、リレーショナルなワークスタディです。

作品内では、参加者が「あなたの好きな食べ物は何？」と問い合うことから対話が始まります。単純な問いのなかに、意外な共通点や笑い、親近感が生まれるかもしれません。やがてその問いは、「いつどこで食べたの？」「嫌いな食べ物は？」「子どものころの味の記憶は？」「誰と食べたい？」と、自然にかたちを変えながら連鎖し、ふくらんでいきます。

こうした偶発的なやりとりのプロセスそのものを通じて、言葉が関係性を立ち上げる瞬間や、対話が生まれる場のかたちをそっと可視化していく試みです。

What’s your favorite food?

"What would you do if you found yourself between two complete strangers?"

A new school term, a new workplace, an unfamiliar event—in everyday life, we encounter countless “first meetings.”These moments often bring a quiet sense of hesitation or unease.So how do we move beyond that discomfort and begin to truly get to know another person?Is asking for someone's name or hometown really enough to understand who they are?

Inspired by the Japanese saying “to eat from the same pot of rice,”this work is a relational study centered around the act of sharing a table.

The performance begins with participants asking each other,“What’s your favorite food?”From this simple question, unexpected common ground, laughter, or a sense of connection may arise.As the conversation unfolds, the questions gradually shift and expand:“When and where did you eat that?” “What foods do you dislike?”“What flavors do you remember from childhood?” “Who would you like to eat with?”

Through these spontaneous and evolving exchanges,the work explores how language gives rise to relationships,and how dialogue becomes visible—shaped not only by words, but by the space between people.

A cat quietly watches the performances of people gathered in the station square. In time, its still gaze begins to turn into gentle movement.
