“Bread and Roses for All ＝すべての人にパンと薔薇を＝”

約100年前の労働運動から生まれたこのスローガンには、生きる糧とともに、「心の豊かさ」や「尊厳」の大切さが込められています。

しかし、現代を生きる私たちにとって、必要なのはそれだけではありません。たとえば、猫のように静かにそっとそばにいてくれる第三の存在、あるいは、『ここにいていい』と思える場所が求められているのではないでしょうか。

本作に登場する猫のキャラクターは、作者が共に暮らす飼い猫がモデルです。
そのしぐさや特徴をもとに、AIモデルというちょっと不思議な伴奏者と共に描いています。まるで手で描くように、AI技術もまた、今の時代の「手仕事」のひとつとして、静かに関わりながら新しいつながりや対話を生成しています。

＃ご飯をたべる、＃はたらく、＃服を選ぶ、＃銭湯にいく、＃映画をみる、
＃窓をながめる、＃好きな人のことを考える、＃ねむる. . . etc.
日常のひとコマひとコマの、ささやかであっても確かな生活の風景であり、存在の証です｡

猫は、傍観者であり観察者でもあり、時に自分自身かもしれません。この猫の目をとおして、日常に潜む小さなつながりや、自分と世界とのあいだの静かな境界を感じていただけたら幸いです。

“Bread and Roses for All ＝すべての人にパンと薔薇を＝”
More than a century ago, these words emerged from a labor movement—
a cry not only for bread to survive, but for roses, too: dignity, beauty, and the richness of spirit. And yet, for those of us living in the present, that alone may not be enough. Perhaps we seek something more subtle— a third presence, quiet and constant, like a cat resting nearby. Or simply, a place that softly affirms: “It’s okay to be here.”

At the heart of this work is a cat— a character inspired by the artist’s own feline companion. Its gestures, its quiet rituals, are translated in dialogue with an unlikely collaborator: an AI model, a curious co-creator that weaves image like thread, not unlike the hand, forming connections, offering silences that speak.

#eating, #working, #choosing clothes, #going to the bathhouse, #watching a film, #staring out the window, #thinking of someone dear, #falling asleep...etc.
Fragments of the everyday. Each scene—gentle, fleeting—is a trace of life.

A whisper that says: I was here. The cat is a witness, a wanderer, sometimes a mirror. Through its gaze, may you glimpse the unseen edges of your own day—
the tender boundaries between self and world, and the quiet web of presence that holds it all together.
