現代社会におけるコミュニケーションは多様化しつつありますが、システマチックな社会構造や固定観念から生まれる人間の弱さや脆さ、そして「当たり前」と思われてきたことが実はそうではないという出来事が頻発しています。

本作品は、そうした思いを、（常識を疑えっ！ではありませんが）、沖縄の言葉で「ごちゃまぜ」を意味する「チャンプルー」という言葉を冠したゴーヤチャンプルーに例えて表現しています。

エプロン姿の女性＝“わたし”が、ゴーヤチャンプルーのレシピ動画を見ながら料理に挑戦しますが、出来上がったのはこれまで見たこともないようなゴーヤの珍料理（デザート系）でした。このパフォーマンスに対し、観客の中には滑稽だと感じたり「Oh! No! ジーザス！」と驚く方も多いかもしれません。

しかし、発信者（つくり手）の意図したコミュニケーションが、時に「伝言ゲーム」のようにズレたり誤解されたりすることがあるように、また、既成のルールや物差し（価値観）から外れることが同調圧力やパワーバランスの中で難しく感じられることは、誰もが一度は経験したことではないでしょうか。

けれども、もしそれが料理の工程やレシピの一部であれば、プロの仕事でない限り、手順や約束事を飛ばしてしまうことも許されるユーモアや愛嬌になります。塩加減の失敗は問題かもしれませんが、「かけ蕎麦とカレーパン」の組み合わせや「いちご大福」のようなアレンジは、結果的に新しい主流を超える面白さや起爆剤にもなり得ます。そうした挑戦的な「レシピ」こそが、私たちの興味を引き、活気を生み出すのです。そして、こうした創造的な自己決定こそ、実は奇跡や偶然ではなく、個人個人が積み重ねてきた「共有された記憶（Collective Memory）」の賜物なのではないでしょうか。

科学者が実験中に偶然の化合物を発見し大発見につながることがありますが、それも日々のデータや経験の蓄積があってこそであり、サッカー選手のゴールが「奇跡」や「偶然」ではないのと同様です。ましてや、それが人命に関わる判断や選択であればなおさらです。

例えば、2011年の東日本大震災で津波被害により児童の約7割の74名と、教員10名が命を落とした石巻市の大川小学校の生存者の一人（当時小学5年生）は、祖父の「津波が起きたら山さ逃げろ」という教えがあったからこそ、極限状態の中で「学校にとどまれ」と指示する教員の言葉を振り切り、とっさに高台へ逃げることができたと語っています。これはまさに「奇跡」や「偶然」ではなく、普段からの備えや経験の積み重ねの結果です。

本作品が、そんな「奇跡でも偶然でもない現実」をサバイバルするために、チャレンジを忘れないことの大切さを考える機会となれば幸いです。

In today’s society, communication has become increasingly diverse, yet human vulnerability and fragility still arise from systematic social structures and stereotypical fixed ideas. Moreover, many situations reveal that what we have long taken for granted as “common sense” is often not so. This work uses the Okinawan word “chanpuru,” meaning “mixed together,” inspired by the dish Goya Chanpuru, as a metaphor to explore these themes.

In the performance, a woman wearing an apron — representing “myself” — attempts to cook Goya Chanpuru while following an online recipe video. However, the finished dish turns out to be a completely unfamiliar and unusual dessert-style Goya creation. Audience members may find this both comical and surprising, perhaps reacting with expressions like “Oh no! Jesus!” Yet, just as communication from the sender can sometimes get distorted like in a game of “telephone,” or break down due to misunderstandings, stepping outside established rules or norms can feel difficult under social pressures and power dynamics — something most people have experienced at least once.

However, if such deviations are part of the cooking process or recipe, then skipping steps or breaking conventions (as long as it’s not professional work) can be seen as playful and endearing. While mistakes in seasoning might be problematic, unexpected combinations — like mixing “kake soba and curry bread” or the creation of “strawberry daifuku” — can lead to exciting innovations that surpass mainstream expectations. These challenging “recipes” can spark creativity and vitality. Moreover, such inventive self-determination is not a miracle or coincidence but rather the result of each individual’s accumulated “collective memory” — shared experiences and knowledge.

We often hear stories of scientists accidentally discovering great breakthroughs during experiments. Yet these discoveries rest on the accumulation of daily data and experience — much like a soccer player’s goal is not mere luck or chance. This is especially true when decisions affect human life and require careful judgment.

For example, after the devastating 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, a survivor of the Okawa Elementary School tragedy in Ishinomaki (then a fifth grader) recounted how their grandfather’s advice, “If a tsunami comes, run to the mountain,” enabled them to ignore teachers’ instructions to stay and instead flee to higher ground, ultimately saving their life. This was not a miracle or coincidence but the result of prior knowledge and preparedness.

Through this work, I hope to invite reflection on the importance of embracing challenge and creativity as essential to surviving a world where “miracles” and “coincidences” are rarely what they seem.
