《スライス・オブ・ライフ（生活の一片）》

本作は、北千住のアートスペース「BUoY」の広大な地下空間に、“ワタシ”が一匹の飼い猫とともに引っ越してきた、という仮想の設定のもとで展開されたパフォーマンス・アート作品です。

“引越祝い”として催されるはずのパーティー。その招待状は不特定多数へと送られ、当日、“ワタシ”は誰が来るとも知れぬ客人をただひたすらに待ちながら、静かにその準備を続けます。

本作は、鑑賞者（参加者）とのリレーショナルな関係性を軸に、「観る者」と「観られる者」のあいだに存在する目に見えない境界──いわば“第四の壁”を横断しようとする試みです。そうした関わりを通じて、私たちの誰もが日々営んでいる“生活の断片”に、あらためて目を向けることを促します。

働き、暮らし、予定に追われる日常のなかで、ふと立ち止まるような空白の時間に、私たちは“個独”とでも呼べるような感覚に出会うことがあります。そして、もしかするとその“個独”のほうが日常的であり、“つながり”や“関係性”といった状態こそが、むしろ非日常なのではないか──本作は、そんな問いから出発しています。

Slice of Life

In this performance art piece, a fictional premise unfolds: “I” have moved into the vast underground space of BUoY, an art venue in Kita-Senju, accompanied only by my pet cat. To celebrate this imagined relocation, invitations are sent out to an unspecified number of guests for a “housewarming” party. On the day of the event, “I” quietly prepare for the gathering—waiting, not knowing who, if anyone, will arrive.

The work centers on relational communication with viewers (or participants), seeking to traverse the invisible boundary between observer and observed（or the one who sees and the one who is seen）—the so-called “fourth wall.” Through this act of waiting and the potential for shared presence, the piece reflects on the fragments of everyday life that we all inhabit.

In the routine of working and living, we may find ourselves, in moments without plans, face-to-face with a sense of solitude—what might be called solitary individuation. Yet perhaps it is precisely connection, not isolation, that feels unfamiliar, even extraordinary.

This project, part of the Slice of Life series, begins with that very question.
